French-English translations
I’ve been translating and interpreting for people for almost as long as I’ve been working as an English language trainer.
It all began with translating a few technical documents for one of the learners I was working with.
Others asked me to help them translate their CVs.
Then there were some articles for publication in journals of psychiatry and psychology.
And then it snowballed into a fairly steady stream of translation requests for a very wide range of subjects, from the highly technical to the highly fashionable.
All of this came about, and continues to this day, on a word-of-mouth basis.
People would ask me if I could translate this or those documents. And I could. And I did.
And they keep coming back for more.
It’s very pleasant building rapport with the authors I translate for.
Learning how they like to get their message across and getting into their own personal style is important in getting just the right words here and the appropriate expressions there.
Over the past thirty-odd years I’ve translated hundreds of documents, thousands of pages, and hundreds of thousands of words.
